DEBUT ALBUM AVAILABLE FOR YOUR GRAMMY CONSIDERATION, AS MOJO NAMES IT ONE OF 2014'S BEST (THUS FAR)
The
Gloaming – whose self-titled debut premiered at #1 on the iTunes World
Chart (#2 on Billboard) – are riding yet another wave of international
acclaim. For Recording Academy members, the album is now open for your
GRAMMY consideration in the category Best World Music Album in the 57th
Annual Awards.
In other news, bandleader Martin Hayes was just
honored with the Spirit of Ireland Award in a gala thrown by the Irish
Arts Center on October 10. Feting him were honorary Irish Arts Center
chairs and hosts Liam Neeson and Gabriel Byrne and special guest Sting.
The evening featured a special performance from Hayes, Sting and fellow
members of The Gloaming Dennis Cahill and Thomas Bartlett. The gala
raised over $1.1 million for the Irish Arts Center:
