She has just added several NYC and LA dates following her 36-date US tour with the chart-topping Welcome To Night Vale podcast's live show, including May 24 at Cake Shop at 11pm and May 25 at the Living Room at 7pm in NYC; and May 29 at Hotel Café at 7pm in LA.

British musician Mary Epworth's debut album, Dream Life, is inspired by nature and landscape and inhabits two worlds:  a dark, ghostly English winter, and the light of an imagined idyllic California.

Mary has been making significant waves in her home country since releasing Dream Life there on her own label, Hand Of Glory. Overwhelming radio support has included 3 singles playlisted on BBC 6 Music and ‘Black Doe’ picked as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record In The World. Much praise has come from national press, including Q magazine calling the album “Psych pop splendour... Experimentalism, melody and narrative co-existing in appealing balance” and Record Collector awarding the album five stars and hailing it as “A work of bracing originality... Immaculately sung and graced throughout with intelligent, song-serving arrangements and inspired production touches.” This attention has lead to Mary and her band performing sold-out shows in the UK including the Royal Albert Hall Elgar Room in London. Recently Mary joined Boy George, Bernard Butler, Mark King and Tim Burgess to form a one-off supergroup at the Liverpool International Music Festival.

From the bold album openers ‘Long Gone’, with its brass, synth-droned chords and stately chorus, the all-out fuzz and drum assault of stand-out track ‘Black Doe’, through to the magical and psychedelically epic closer ‘Ray Of Sunlight’,  Dream Life is swirling, lush and mysterious. Using analogue synths, space echo, and kosmische drums to set rich atmospheres and create unique soundscapes, Dream Life makes nods to psych, soul, krautrock, shoegaze, and even gospel, without ever falling squarely into any genre.

Production and mixing of the record was also polar, with the majority of recording done with producer Will Twynham in a snowbound barn in Norfolk, England - coincidentally the exact area that was home to Mary's maternal ancestors, and also to Celtic queen, Boudicca's Iceni tribe - and the lion's share of the mixing performed by Thom Monahan (Vetiver, Devendra Banhart) in Laurel Canyon. It's appropriate that these places figure strongly in a record that maps feelings to landscape and uses nature as metaphor.

Mary's influences for Dream Life include Iggy Pop's New Values - the drum sound in particular was referenced so much in production that the album's working title was “Old Values" - Todd Rundgren, The Beach Boys (Beach Boys Love You's brutal snare and synth, through to Holland's lush soul), to the progressive sound approaches of The Pretty Things' S.F. Sorrow and cult studio project Millennium's Present Tense.  Mary recently interviewed another influence, fellow psychedelic nature lover Linda Perhacs, for Shindig magazine.

Now it’s time to bring Mary Epworth and Dream Life to North America. Highline Records is releasing Dream Life on all formats, and Mary is embarking on a 36-date US tour opening for the stage show of cult US podcast phenomenon Welcome To Night Vale*, performing with Will Twynham as a psychedelic two-piece.

TREVOR MOSS & HANNAH-LOU: ‘For A Minute There’ Single Release USA Digitally Released 7/29 on Highline Records HL028D

This Summer husband and wife duo Trevor Moss & Hannah-Lou take a break from working on their fourth studio album to venture out on a coast to coast North American Tour supporting Tori Amos, and release the single ‘For A Minute There’, taken from their recent album ‘La Ferme de Fontenaille’

Described by the NME as having ‘Fairport Conventions's folk with Fleetwood Mac's pop sensibilities’ and championed by the likes of Bob Harris and John Kennedy, the pair have enjoyed a busy 18 months of shows, with highlights including playing the Acoustic Stage (A main billing stage) at last year’s Glastonbury Festival as well as supporting Tori Amos on a six week European tour.

Having earned a reputation for getting off the beaten track with their own tours of tin tabernacles, village halls, social clubs and even by canal boat, the couple have supported a host of musicians, from Damon Albarn, Richard Thompson and Beth Orton, to Ade Edmondson’s Bad Shepherds, Loudon Wainwright and legendary producer Ethan Johns.

TM&HL’s first duo record, after the break up of their band Indigo Moss, was self-titled and came out in 2010 on independent UK Folk/Americana label Loose Music. The second was entitled ‘Quality First, Last & Forever!’ and released on Heavenly Recordings (Co-op/Universal) in 2011, and their third, self-produced, released and distributed only via independent records stores, courtesy their very own Anglophone Recording Company, gained critical acclaim on it’s UK release in 2012. ‘For a Minute There’ is the first single from that album to be released in the USA.

Melbourne's Icypoles (Ex-Architecture In Helsinki) Ready US Indie Pop Debut

'My World Was Made For You' (May 6 / Highline Records) is the debut album from The Icypoles, four gals who call Melbourne home but would just as easily fit into a Bande à Part dance scene or be happily serving cherry pie at Twin Peaks' Double R Diner.*

Produced by Haima Marriott (Architecture in Helsinki), My World Was Made For You is a collection of thirteen taut tunes to take you through a lover's landscape of playful celebrations, pensive reflections and dreamy feelings.

With heart bedazzled on sleeve, The Icypoles revel in the fun and fertile relationship zone bookended by flirting and commitment: "Staying Home" laments a smitten crushee's love-drunk inability to leave the house, whereas "Settle Down" sobers things up somewhat and provides the pragmatic ultimatum, "Our lives together will have to wait for the right time." "Babies" goes one step further, pondering the cycle of life, and may well be the most startlingly earnest thing to happen to pop music since The Shaggs hatched their Philosophy of the World.

Having become a familiar fixture on Melbourne's inner-north stages, and with two previous releases (2009's Getting Ready cassette and 2011's Promise to Stay 7" EP), The Icypoles' musical adventures can be traced back to the early 00s, with half the band finding their formative footing playing horns in Architecture in Helsinki.

Eschewing that band's off-the-wall maximal approach, however, The Icypoles set raw sentiment to the most bare-boned of arrangements: clear, wistful female vocal harmonies give way to playfully crafted bass, guitar and percussion interplay, like if Phil Spector were stripped of his Wall of Sound and started producing Marine Girls 45s.

Indie pop Christmas compilation 'Festivus 2' will be release November 26 on Highline Records, featuring The Lilys, Glam Chops, Piney Gir, Western Lows, and members of Teenage Fanclub and Art Brut.

Paste and Philadelphia Inquirer' both featured "standout tracks" (Paste) from last year's 'Festivus' on its Christmas 2012 playlists. NME praised the "jingly-jangly label showcase" and Q said, "Highline is similarly opposed to breadhead solstice-mongering, and offer up 15 skiffly, lovelorn tunes with a Brian Wilson aesthetic adorned with both kinds of jangling (guitars and jingle bells)." Oklahoma Gazette said, "Give it to your favorite hipster."

'Festivus 2' may be the rare sequel that's better than the original. The album kicks off with the moody synth-pop version of "Silent Night" submitted by LA dream poppers Western Lows, who have been championed by Bob Harris and The Guardian ("a particularly enervated form of shoegaze"). Other highlights are Glam Chops (featuring Eddie Argos of Art Brut) with "Baby Jesus Was the First Glam Rocker" (with a wicked David Bowie impression); The Priscillas driving power-pop "One Christmas Wish"; Ulysses' overdriven-with-harmonies "I Wish You a Merry Christmas"; and Francis Macdonald (of Teenage Fanclub) with Anna Sheard "Silver Bells Sing Their Chime." Washington, D.C. indie rockers The Lilys' version of "Good King Wenceslas" delivers a rare slice of guitar-bending psychedelic delight from the indie veterans. The subject of two NPR segments in the past year, Kansan-via-London's Piney Gir serves reverb-soaked psych-pop.

Named the "#1 Outstanding 2011 Album You Might Have Missed" by Amazon.com, Shelby Earl's debut solo album, Burn the Boats (produced by John Roderick of The Long Winters and released in November 2011 on Local 638 Records) inspired NPR/LA Times Ann Powers to dub Earl her "new favorite songwriter" (see below for full letter from Miss Powers). Collaborators on the album include members of The Long Winters, Telekinesis, (former) Fleet Foxes, The Head and the Heart, the Maldives and more. Earl has since shared stages with everyone from Benjamin Gibbard, Rhett Miller and Lavender Diamond to Loudon Wainwright III, Crooked Fingers and the White Buffalo. Earl's sophomore solo album Swift Arrows (produced by Damien Jurado), was released July 23, 2013 and is fast earning critical acclaim.

Every sound you hear on his eponymous debut album — due out this summer through Mint Records — was self-recorded by Arner in his 72-square-foot practice space using a precariously perched desktop computer and his home recording gear. The sum of his many talents, these 10 songs sizzle with DIY energy and encompass the scope of the songwriter’s diverse resume. Opener “Midnight on South Granville” sets a dark tone with its coldly mechanical intro before flourishing into a lush post-punk synthscape that reflects Arner’s love of analogue electronics. Elsewhere, the bass-heavy pulse of “Broken Glass (In the Hall of Shattered Mirrors)” draws on ’70s pseudo-funk, while “Wildest One” is an abrasive surge of distortion and “Don’t Remind Me” is a soaring pop anthem that recalls classic Murderrecords songcraft. The lyrics are filled with self-doubt and wry cynicism, but don’t expect confessional heartbreak — these timeless melodies and intricately wrought arrangements are filled with noisy pop sweetness, and there’s not an acoustic guitar to be found.

3 John Murry

John Murry -- the Bay Area-based second cousin of William Faulkner's who makes incredible Southern indie-noir music – is touring in October opening for Shuggie Otis. It cements his status as a national act in 2013: NPR "World Café Next" artist and a "breakout" (NPR Here & Now); sold out UK shows; 5-star reviews in the Guardian and MOJO; playing festivals in the UK and California; a Weir Here taping curated by Bob Weir; raves from MTV Hive, Black Book, Wall Street Journal, Esquire, Daytrotter, American Songwriter, San Jose Mercury, and Baeble Music; and signing with Windish Agency. He will also tape NPR's Beale Street Caravan performance show during a headlining performance in his former hometown of Memphis, TN, October 5. It'll be his third NPR taping of the year.

3:45 Wry Climate

NY indie rock/shoegave band Wry Climate has been compared to Sonic Youth, Lotus Plaza, Pavement, MBV, Dirty Projectors, Real Estate, and Deerhunter, combining jangly electric guitars with amp feedback and digital delay noise effects. Based in Brooklyn and Purchase, NY, Wry Climate is the project of Dan Nelson and friends.

4:30 Defibulators

The Defibulators, described alternately as "Hee-Haw on mescaline" and "CBGB-meets-Grand Ole Opry," released 'Debt'll Get'em,' the follow up to their acclaimed 2009 debut 'Corn Money,' on August 27th. Recorded in Woodstock with D. James Goodwin and Eli Walker and Brooklyn with co-producer Brian Bender (Langhorne Slim, Jose James), the album is an au courant, urban take on classic country, channeling the frenetic energy of their legendary live shows into tight, punchy hooks and foot-stomping sing-alongs.

5:15 Kingsley Flood

Kingsley Flood – the band whose Newport set grabbed the attention of NPR Music, Billboard, Rolling Stone, Paste – are having a breakout year. Drawing comparisons to The Replacements, Deer Tick, Lucero, Wilco, and the Clash, the band's six members tore up the stage in a misting rain, with lead singer Naseem Khuri ripping at his guitar while Jenée Morgan Force alternated between violin and saxophone, forming an impromptu horn section with keyboardist Chris Barrett picking up the trumpet. NPR Music streamed the set.

It's not her first time on the silver screen or on television. Her voice was featured in the Sony Pictures film “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story” on the song "Let's Duet." She's had songs in How I Met Your Mother, Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty and the film "The Lucky One," starring Zac Efron. The song "Further" was included on the Grey's Anatomy Soundtrack Vol 4.

Correatown also recently scored its first film, indie feature Sassy Pants, which was released last October.

Originally from the small town of Yuba City in Northern California, Correatown (aka Angela Correa) has lived and traveled over much of the world. Those explorations stay close to her, one of the reasons why the music skirts genres; it is an amalgam of fuzzed out lo-fi indie rock, early American folk and the darker tones of classic rock. Influenced as much by Elisabeth Cotton and Jack Elliot as PJ Harvey and Neil Young, Correatown brings subtle stories to life with fluid melodies and distinctive arrangements. Haunting, genuine, beautiful and sparse are words often used to describe the music of Correatown.

A much beloved fixture of L.A’s eastside music scene, Angela Correa spent the last few years gaining recognition for her shows, whether performing solo or with a full band, after relocating from her home town. Los Angeles Weekly declared “You read it here first: Angela Correa is going to be a much-loved L.A. artist.” Angela’s approach as an artist only begins with storytelling – texture, color, patterns, and design are woven into the music and the art of her albums, which she often arranges, designs and assembles by hand. Over the course of her career she has released three full-length albums, two EPs, and licensed songs to many hit TV shows, including “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Brothers & Sisters,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Without A Trace,” and “The OC,” as well as several indie films. In 2007, Angela Correa’s voice was featured as the singing voice of Jenna Fischer’s character Darlene in the Sony Pictures film “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story” on the songs “Let’s Duet,” “Darling,” and “Beautiful Ride.” She has toured the West Coast extensively, as well as parts of the Midwest and East Coast. In Fall 2009, she toured Europe accompanying Tom Brosseau. Most recently, Correatown released the full length album “Spark. Burn. Angela Correa toured with her side project, Les Shelleys in 2010. A collaboration with FatCat recording artist Tom Brosseau, their debut album was released November 8th, 2010 by FatCat Records in the United Kingdom.
