NPR World Café has set a date for the indie rock/folk band’s performance chat on May 3. A Relix Magazine “On the Verge” profile is planned.

Meanwhile, northeast tour dates continue including in May in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. as the band was added to Green River Festival on July 10, the same date at the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Los Lobos, and Margo Price.

Signature Sounds has also set a release date to reissue its self-titled debut with lyrics and liner notes on a full-color inner sleeve, clear blue vinyl, and a never-before-heard song included in the download on June 24.

SILVER CITY BOUND SET COURSE TO CROSS GENRES WITH NEW EP 'TAKE MY PICTURE' OUT MARCH 4

NYC’s Silver City Bound will release their new EP, Take My Picture, on March 4th. Occupying a unique intersection where folk, indie rock, Zydeco, and North American roots music meet, the musicians take a left-of-center approach to their sound. Vocalist and songwriter Sam Reider, who was trained as a jazz pianist, plays the accordion, for starters. He and guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Justin Poindexter lead the band and are joined by bassist Noah Garabedian, drummer Will Clark. The band's Diner in the Sky was named the Best Americana Album of 2015 by the Independent Music Awards.

Formerly known as the Amigos, Silver City Bound have earned accolades for their "sprightly picture of folk, country, mariachi and more" (The New Yorker), a sound that the Huffington Post calls "Americana at its best." Along the way, they've performed at Lincoln Center, The Philadelphia Folk Festival, Folk Alliance, as well on bills with the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Amy Helm and Sam Bush. Equally at home in indie rock dive bars and cultural institutions and inspired by the diversity of sounds in NYC, they're a breath of fresh air, stirring unexpected instruments and wide-ranging influences into their own mixing pot. Named for a Lead Belly song, the band will play an EP release show March 4 at Brooklyn’s Barbes.

Take My Picture casts a wide net, from the Jayhawks-worthy harmonies of opening track "Take My Picture" to the soulful twang of "Do Right," a cover of Aretha Franklin's "Do Right Woman, Do Right Man." Fueled by the blend of Reider and Poindexter's voices, the band recalls the classic sounds of Flying Burrito Brothers while also uncovering new ground, a move that puts them more in line with modern-day Americana bands like the Felice Brothers.

Sugar Ray & the Bluetones' ‘Living Tear to Tear’ (Severn Records) debuted at #1 on Living Blues Magazine's radio chart this month. The band is celebrating its 35th anniversary since its first recording, a vinyl-only EP in 1979. Sugar Ray & The Bluetones have backed Otis Rush (who turned 80 this year), Hubert Sumlin, Jimmy Rogers, Big Walter Horton, Roosevelt Sykes, Big Mama Thornton, and Memphis Slim. MEMPHIS SOUL MEN THE BO-KEYS RELEASE TWO VINYL/DIGITAL 45s TODAY ON ELECTRAPHONIC RECORDINGS

KILLER TAKES ON ENNIO MORRICONE AND "DARK END OF THE STREET" PLUS TWO DEEP SOUL ORIGINALS

Memphis soul men The Bo-Keys will release two vinyl/digital-only 45s today on Electraphonic Recordings. The band joins with legendary vocalists Spencer Wiggings and Percy Wiggins for a deep soul rendition of the Dan Penn and Chips Moman classic hit "At The Dark End of the Street." Versions by Cat Power, Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Ryan Adams, and in the film "The Commitments" have kept it in the public eye and Penn and Moman are most recently celebrated in the new documentary "Muscle Shoals." B-side "Wind Up Monkey" sounds like a lost, funky instrumental cut from Stax or Duke/Peacock, which debuted yesterday at Wax Poetics.

The Bo-Keys also teamed up with soul powerhouse Percy Wiggins to bring you their other new single steeped in the Bluff City heat, the original "I Need More Than One Lifetime." The B-side is a funky instrumental take on Ennio Morricone’s cult Western film theme "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly."

KINGSLEY FLOOD'S "AWESOME" (NY TIMES) VIDEO "SUN GONNA LEMME SHINE" BREAKS 10,000 VIEWS AS NEWPORT FOLK FEST DAY ANNOUNCED & DAYTROTTER SESSION POSTS

The "awesome" (New York Times) music video for breakout band Kingsley Flood's "Sun Gonna Lemme Shine," inspired in part by a NY Times Magazine cover story, has passed 10,000 views as Newport Folk Festival confirmed that the band would play Friday, July 26.

Meanwhile, Huffington Post asked KF's singer Naseem Khuri for an essay about the video entitled "Why We Made a Video About a Boy in a Dress." Khuri writes, "While most of our recent album, Battles, does not focus on boys wearing dresses per se, it does look at choice. Through the eyes of people who have done all the right things and still fall behind, it questions what choices they have to stay above water. Do they have to sell out? Throw elbows?":

Morley – the world-traveling singer-songwriter and peace activist – will celebrate the release of her new album 'Undivided' with a show at Room 5. Morley is also confirmed to perform at the Tadasana International Festival of Yoga and Music in Santa Monica April 20-22.

'Undivided' came about following a year of travel for Morley, who brought back rhythms and melodies from the Sahara and Morocco. Her video for "Wild Bird" debuted on National Geographic Music, which called it "a dazzling, sun-drenched voyage to the Sahara desert.

She also performed as part of TEDxWomen in December, alongside Dr. Mehmet Oz, Jane Fonda, Gloria Steinem. View her performance here.
