NPR World Café has set a date for the indie rock/folk band’s performance chat on May 3. A Relix Magazine “On the Verge” profile is planned.

Meanwhile, northeast tour dates continue including in May in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. as the band was added to Green River Festival on July 10, the same date at the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Los Lobos, and Margo Price.

Signature Sounds has also set a release date to reissue its self-titled debut with lyrics and liner notes on a full-color inner sleeve, clear blue vinyl, and a never-before-heard song included in the download on June 24.

Nick Moss Band readies its new gumbo of Chicago soul, funk, blues, jam band music, and rock & roll with 'I Want the World The Know' (March 18 / Blue Bella Records), marking the tenth album by bandleader, songwriter, and groove master Nick Moss and a new musical high water mark.

Billboard.com debuted "I Want the World To Know." Billboard's Lars Brandle writes, "Moss' class shines through in "I Want the World To Know," which builds into a showcase of his fluency on the six-string."

Other praise has come to the band on a 36-date national winter tour. KEXP's Greg Vandy called the band "great" late last year. UT San Diego praised Moss' "high-octane" sound, continuing, "Their forthcoming new album, "Time Ain’t Free," finds the group continuing to expand, stylistically, by incorporating gospel, boogie, Southern-rock and more."

Camper Van Beethoven's 'La Costa Perdida' (429 Records) debuted at #174 on the Billboard Top 200, #3 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, and #1 on the Alternative New Artist Album chart this week, the band's highest showing since 1989. MTV Hive did a Q&A with David Lowery.

NEW EMBEDDABLE MUSIC VIDEO FOR "OUTTA SIGHT" POSTED

NPR Weekend Edition recently profiled indie pop starlet Piney Gir. She talks about keeping the songs short and sweet in "perfectly formed bursts of pop music" (her words), recording live as a band in one room,  growing up in a fundamentalist Pentecostal household with "happy clappy Jesus music" (also her words), how the muppets introduced her to pop music, recording with Tom Benelick who played on 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band,' her part Native American ancestry, and recording in Los Angeles with producer Rob Campanella of the Brian Jonestown Massacre. Scott Simon says, "Her sound has been compared to Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline, but on her latest album, Geronimo, Gir sometimes seems to be conjuring up '60s pop from girl groups to The Troggs."

Kevin Gordon, the southern rock and roller and poet who is the subject of a recent NY Times feature, will perform at Otto's Shrunken Head on March 29. He also earned four stars (out of four) in USA Today and three and a half stars in Rolling Stone, which said, "The smarts on 'Gloryland' never undercut the roots-rock rush. Dude's a juke-joint professor emeritus."

In the Times piece, Lucinda Williams said, "He’s writing songs that are like short stories, and I really like the kind of swampy, bluesy sound."

Meanwhile, Gordon also earned a rave from Oxford American, which said, "'Gloryland' should enhance his already sizable reputation as a poet-songwriter and an impassioned performer."

Kevin Gordon – the southern rock & roll songwriter and poet – has earned a feature in today's New York Times under the headline "A Musician Or a Poet? Yes to Both," including Gordon talking about his love of poets Richard Hugo and Denis Johnson.

Peter Applebome also spoke with Gordon fan Lucinda Williams, who told him, "He’s writing songs that are like short stories, and I really like the kind of swampy, bluesy sound."

Breakout Texas indie-roots band Sons of Fathers – whose incredible natural harmonies have stunned fans – will make their LA debut January 11 at Hotel Café. The band has seen quite a rise from their formation in San Marcos, TX earlier this year to their live radio debut on WXPN and acclaim from national publications like the Wall Street Journal and USA Today.
